One Piece Devil Fruits — A Power Tier List (Through the Egghead Arc)
Ranking One Piece's strongest Devil Fruits by canonical feats through Egghead — S-tier through C-tier, with awakening notes and the Gorosei asterisk.
Tier-listing One Piece’s Devil Fruits is messy because Oda keeps moving the ceiling — Gear 5 reset the top, the Gorosei broke the “fruit equals power” assumption, and awakening keeps reshuffling the middle. This is where the fruits actually sit through Chapter 1110 and the Egghead arc, judged on canon feats rather than theoretical hax.
The Gorosei aren’t on this list. Chapter 1110 confirmed the Five Elders’ Yokai forms — Gyuki (Saturn), Itsumade (Mars), Fengxi (Warcury), Bakotsu (Nusjuro), Sandworm (Ju Peter) — aren’t Devil Fruits at all. Oda only named the forms without classifying them as fruits. Strongest Devil Fruit is not the same question as strongest fighter.
The tier list at a glance
| Tier | Fruit | User | Type | One-line case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika | Luffy | Mythical Zoan | Awakened — cartoon physics, bends the environment to rubber |
| S | Yami Yami no Mi | Blackbeard | Logia | Nullifies other Devil Fruit powers on contact, absorbs everything |
| S | Gura Gura no Mi | Blackbeard (was Whitebeard) | Paramecia | ”Can destroy the world” — wide-area earthquake/tsunami |
| A | Ope Ope no Mi | Trafalgar Law | Paramecia | ”Ultimate” fruit — Room, Shambles, Immortality Surgery |
| A | Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu | Kaido | Mythical Zoan | Azure Dragon, flight, Bolo Breath, durability |
| A | Soru Soru no Mi | Big Mom | Paramecia | Soul extraction at city scale, Homies army |
| A | Magu Magu no Mi | Akainu | Logia | Highest offensive Logia — magma > fire on the type chart |
| A | Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix | Marco | Mythical Zoan | Regeneration of “anything that can be considered a wound” |
| A | Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu | Sengoku | Mythical Zoan | Golden Buddha, shockwave palm strikes |
| A | Hie Hie no Mi | Aokiji (Kuzan) | Logia | Freezes oceans — only Logia to freeze the sea solid |

| B | Ito Ito no Mi | Doflamingo | Paramecia | Awakened — strings cities, Birdcage, parasite strings |
| B | Goro Goro no Mi | Enel | Logia | ”Invincible” Logia hard-countered by rubber — A-tier vs anyone else |
| B | Pika Pika no Mi | Kizaru | Logia | Light-speed travel and lasers; tempo-defining in any fight |
| B | Doku Doku no Mi | Magellan | Paramecia | Hydra, Venom Demon — arguably the strongest non-awakened Paramecia |
| B | Mera Mera no Mi | Sabo (was Ace) | Logia | Flame Logia; ceiling is Fleet Admiral candidate |
| B | Suna Suna no Mi | Crocodile | Logia | Moisture drain + sand storms; arc-villain ceiling |
| B | Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami | Yamato | Mythical Zoan | Ice wolf god; defensive utility + offense |
| C | Hana Hana no Mi | Nico Robin | Paramecia | Utility-first; Demonio Fleur lifts the ceiling at the very top |
| C | Bara Bara no Mi | Buggy | Paramecia | Slash immunity is a real asymmetric counter — user, not fruit, is C |
| C | Bomu Bomu no Mi | Mr. 5 | Paramecia | Whole body is bombs; ceiling capped by Haki era |
| C | Gomu Gomu no Mi (pre-awakening) | Luffy (Pre-Wano) | “Paramecia” | Before Nika reveal, plainly C-tier on raw feats — yes, deliberate |
How to read this list. Tiers rank the fruit, not the user. Goro Goro in Enel’s hands lost to base Luffy in Skypiea; in a different matchup it cooks half the cast — that’s why it’s B. Conversely, Bara Bara is C because the user is Buggy; the power is genuinely difficult to land a kill on.
S Tier — the three that warp the meta
These three are the only fruits with the destructive potential to reshape the world on their own. Two of them are currently held by the same person.
Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika (Luffy)
The fruit the World Government renamed and hid for centuries. Awakened in Wano, the fruit lets Luffy treat the environment like cartoon rubber — buildings stretch, the ground bounces, lightning gets caught and thrown. What pushes it up: the only fruit on the list with no clear ceiling — Oda’s still revealing what awakening lets it do. Cap: stamina cost. Gear 5 has so far been time-limited, and the cooldown leaves Luffy bedridden.
Yami Yami no Mi (Blackbeard)
The Logia of darkness, and the only fruit that can nullify other fruits on contact. The Yami Yami absorbs attacks, objects, and entire towns; the user takes more damage than other Logia (the “weakness” Blackbeard was warned about) but in exchange gets the only fruit in the series that counters the Devil Fruit system itself. What pushes it up: the anti-fruit clause. Anyone whose strength comes from their fruit gets neutralized on touch. Cap: Blackbeard takes hits Logia normally don’t — he’s tankier than most, but it’s a real downside.
Gura Gura no Mi (Whitebeard → Blackbeard)
Whitebeard could “destroy the world.” Marineford’s tilted island, the air-cracking shockwaves, the tsunamis at Sabaody — this is the only Paramecia rated as a strategic weapon. Blackbeard now holds it alongside the Yami Yami, an interaction the series treats as canonically unprecedented and probably impossible for anyone else. What pushes it up: wide-area cataclysm with no preparation time. Cap: none meaningful at full health — the only fruit on the list where the “cap” is just “the user’s HP.”
A Tier — admiral-class fruits
Each of these is the kind of fruit a Yonko, Admiral, or warlord-tier fighter would build a power kit around. Not world-ending on their own, but you don’t win without a plan for them.
Ope Ope no Mi (Law)
Called the “Ultimate Devil Fruit” in-canon — the World Government wanted it badly enough to feed an entire arc to get it. Room creates a surgery space where Law rearranges anything inside it: bodies, weapons, terrain. The Immortality Surgery costs the user’s life but grants eternal youth to a target — Doflamingo wanted Law for that reason alone. The pick: hax tier with no good counter outside Haki and overwhelming durability.
Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu (Kaido)
The Azure Dragon — a Mythical Zoan with flight, fire/lightning breath, and the durability that earned Kaido the “strongest creature alive” title. Wano confirmed Kaido as the highest-feat fruit user before Egghead. The pick: the only fruit on the list where the form itself tanks attacks that flatten admirals.
Soru Soru no Mi (Big Mom)
Extracts souls from anyone afraid of Big Mom, then animates objects, animals, or weather systems with them. At full power it’s mass spiritual coercion at the scale of a country — and the Homies army it produces is a permanent standing force. The pick: the only fruit that scales by terrorizing bystanders.
Magu Magu no Mi (Akainu)
The “highest offensive Logia” by Oda’s own framing — magma beats fire on the type chart, which is how Ace died. Akainu’s reign as Fleet Admiral is built on this fruit’s raw damage output. The pick: if the question is “what kills the fastest,” this is the answer.
Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix (Marco)
The only fruit on the list that heals. The blue flames regenerate “anything that can be considered a wound” — including damage to the user mid-fight. Marco’s Marineford performance held off three admirals because the fruit refuses to let him stay hit. The pick: the defensive ceiling of the entire system.
Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu (Sengoku)
A 12-meter golden Buddha with shockwave palm strikes. Underrated because Sengoku barely uses it — but the one extended showing at Marineford put him on the same shockwave tier as Whitebeard’s Gura Gura blasts, downscaled. The pick: the cleanest “single transformation does everything” Mythical Zoan.
Hie Hie no Mi (Aokiji / Kuzan)
The only Logia that froze the sea solid — Aokiji turned half the ocean to ice during the Punk Hazard backstory and lost a ten-day fight against Akainu using it. Below Magu Magu on the type chart, but otherwise an A-tier ceiling. The pick: the most strategic Logia — wide-area terrain control.
B Tier — top-shelf, with limits
Either the fruit has a known counter, the user revealed a cap, or both. Any of these in the right user’s hands still wins most matchups in the series.
Mochi Mochi no Mi (Katakuri)
A “Special Paramecia” that behaves like a Logia — Katakuri awakened it to substitute his body for mochi terrain. The cap: the substitution stops working against opponents who can see Future Sight ahead, which is exactly how Luffy beat him.
Ito Ito no Mi (Doflamingo)
Awakened — strings can puppeteer civilians, build cities of strings, or cage a country (Birdcage at Dressrosa). The cap: Haki cuts strings. Kaido’s Conqueror’s Haki shrugged the awakened form off off-panel.
Goro Goro no Mi (Enel)
Called “invincible” in Skypiea because lightning Logia is genuinely an A-tier kit against ~95% of opponents. The cap: rubber. The first canonical hard-counter the series ever showed.
Pika Pika no Mi (Kizaru)
Light-speed travel, light-speed lasers. Kizaru’s tempo-defining; you don’t choose when fights with him start or end. The cap: Kizaru himself fights lazily. The fruit is arguably A on its own.
Doku Doku no Mi (Magellan)
Twenty-three flavors of poison plus a Hydra and a Venom Demon final form. The strongest pure-damage Paramecia in the series before awakenings became a category. The cap: the user is also poisoned for hours after using it.
Mera Mera no Mi (Sabo)
Pure fire Logia. Sabo took it to revolutionary-second-in-command level. The cap: Magu Magu beats it on the type chart, full stop.
Suna Suna no Mi (Crocodile)
Sand Logia with moisture drain — dehydrates organic matter on contact and shapes deserts. The cap: water nullifies it. The first “Logia weakness” Oda established.
Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami (Yamato)
Ice Mythical Zoan tied to the wolf god of the Wano myth. Held its own against Kaido’s Bolo Breath. The cap: post-Wano Yamato hasn’t been on-page enough to establish the full ceiling.
C Tier — situational, utility-first, or user-capped
These fruits aren’t bad — they’re either dependent on the user’s creativity or shine only in specific matchups. C tier here means “the fruit alone wouldn’t get you to A.”
- Hana Hana no Mi (Robin) — utility-first, but Demonio Fleur in the Wano arc was the first time the fruit looked top-tier. Ceiling is real; the floor is what holds it here.
- Bara Bara no Mi (Buggy) — immune to slashing attacks, which is one of the funniest asymmetric counters in fiction. The fruit is genuinely difficult to kill with; the user is Buggy.
- Bomu Bomu no Mi (Mr. 5) — whole-body bombs. Pre-Haki era this was a real threat; modern feats put it here.
- Gomu Gomu no Mi (Luffy, pre-awakening) — included deliberately. By raw feats before Wano, the “fruit” was C-tier — it was Luffy’s training, Haki, and Gears that pushed him through the New World. The Nika reveal retconned the ceiling; this slot is the fruit Luffy thought he ate.
Awakening is doing more work than the fruit itself
The single biggest reshuffler of this list isn’t a new fruit — it’s awakening. Awakened fruits extend their power past the user’s body to the environment, and the gap between “awakened” and “not awakened” is usually wider than the gap between two tier rows.
| Fruit | User | Awakening visible since | What awakening adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika | Luffy | Wano, Ch. 1044 | Cartoon physics, environment turns rubber |
| Ito Ito no Mi | Doflamingo | Dressrosa | Strings the city, parasite strings on civilians |
| Mochi Mochi no Mi | Katakuri | Whole Cake Island | Logia-like substitution + terrain control |
| Gomu Gomu / Hito Hito Nika | Luffy | Wano | The reveal that the fruit was a Mythical Zoan all along |
| Soru Soru no Mi | Big Mom | Implied/partial | Country-scale soul extraction |
| Bara Bara no Mi | Buggy (offscreen, hinted) | TBC | Possibly arena-scale severance |
If you’re trying to predict the next post-Egghead power jump, the awakening column matters more than the fruit column.
Mythical Zoans are the new top of the meta
There are 16 canon Mythical Zoans as of the Elbaph arc, against only 13 canon Logia. The post-timeskip rule of thumb: a Mythical Zoan with awakening eats most Logia in a straight fight.
| Fruit | User | Why it’s high on the list |
|---|---|---|
| Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika | Luffy | The series’ active top end |
| Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu | Kaido | ”Strongest creature alive” |
| Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix | Marco | Defensive ceiling |
| Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu | Sengoku | Wide-area shockwaves |
| Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami | Yamato | Mythic ice utility |
| Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Yamata no Orochi | Orochi (deceased) | Eight extra lives — the fruit itself is A-tier; user was the cap |
| Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune | Catarina Devon | Shapeshifting into anyone, including deceased characters |
The Logia type used to be the prestige class — Oda has spent the last hundred chapters quietly demoting it.
Logia ≠ automatic S-tier (the myth-bust)
For the first half of the series, Logia was the implicit top of the list. That’s no longer true:
- Aokiji lost a ten-day fight to a fellow Logia and walked away missing a leg.
- Enel lost to a base, rookie Luffy because rubber happens to no-sell lightning.
- Smoker has plateaued for most of the series — a Marine Vice-Admiral with a Logia who can’t keep up with the New World.
- Crocodile loses to water — half the world map.
The fruits that actually scale into the late game are the ones with no clean counter: anti-fruit (Yami Yami), wide-area destruction (Gura Gura, Magu Magu), or environment-shaping awakenings (Nika, Ito Ito, Mochi Mochi).
If you’re picking favorites
| Goal | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best fruit to have if dropped into the world | Ope Ope no Mi | Hax tier, infinite utility, even the Immortality Surgery is on the table |
| Best fruit for pure spectacle | Hito Hito Nika | Cartoon physics is the most fun power in the series |
| Best fruit to survive everything | Tori Tori Phoenix | The only fruit that heals you while you’re getting hit |
| Best fruit if you can’t fight | Hana Hana | Robin proves it scales by creativity alone |
| Best fruit to scare a Yonko | Yami Yami | The only fruit that disarms other fruits |
| Best fruit per dollar (joke pick) | Bara Bara | Buggy is canonically the luckiest man alive; the fruit deserves some credit |
Methodology
- Through Chapter 1110 / the Egghead arc. Anything from later chapters is excluded so the list doesn’t drift.
- Feats over theory. A fruit only ranks where its user has actually shown the feat. Awakening that’s strongly implied but never demonstrated (Big Mom, Buggy) gets a note, not a tier bump.
- The fruit, not the user. Goro Goro is B because Enel was a glass jaw against rubber; the fruit itself is A-tier in any other matchup.
- Canon only. No movies, no filler, no game-original fruits. Stampede / Strong World fruits don’t count.
- Gorosei excluded. Chapter 1110 confirmed their powers aren’t Devil Fruits.
