Upkeep Daily Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This policy explains how Upkeep Daily, operated by Blaine Ritz, handles information when you visit upkeepdaily.blog, sign in, use interactive features, subscribe to updates, or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email blaineritz@gmail.com.
Information you provide
When you sign in with Google, we process basic identity information needed to authenticate you, including your Google account identifier and display name. Email information may be processed during sign-in and when you choose email updates. Signing in to the public blog requests basic identity information; access to the blog owner's other connected accounts is handled separately.
If you subscribe, we process your email address, subscription preferences, confirmation status and related signup records. If you use account features, we also store the information needed for them, such as likes, favorites, comments, collections and saved progress. Some preferences or progress can be stored in your browser when you are signed out.
Comments you publish can be visible to other readers along with your display name. When you contact us or take part in an outreach conversation, we process the contact details and message content you share.
Usage information and browser storage
We collect information about visits and interactions to understand readership and improve the site. This can include pages viewed, links clicked, reading progress, time spent reading, subscription events, referring pages, campaign tags, browser and device information, viewport size, and approximate country, region or city information supplied by our hosting provider.
Our first-party analytics uses a visitor identifier in local browser storage and a session identifier in session storage. These identifiers help distinguish visits and understand how people move through the site. Some events can be associated with a signed-in account. A separate sign-in cookie maintains your authenticated session. Vercel Web Analytics also provides traffic measurements using its own measurement methods.
You can use your browser settings to remove cookies and local storage. Removing this information can sign you out or clear locally saved preferences and progress.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the site, authenticate accounts, provide interactive features, deliver requested email updates, respond to messages, maintain subscription preferences, investigate problems, and understand which content readers find useful. We also use readership and search-performance information to plan and evaluate editorial work.
Subscription emails include an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing stops future updates associated with that subscription; it does not necessarily remove records needed to honor your unsubscribe choice.
Services that help operate Upkeep Daily
Our services include Vercel for hosting and web analytics, MongoDB for stored site records, Google for sign-in and owner-authorized services, and Resend for email delivery when email features are enabled. Providers process information needed to deliver their services and may maintain their own operational or security records.
The blog owner uses a private desktop assistant, Relay, for analytics, editorial work and outreach. When authorized, it can use the owner's Google Search Console, Gmail, Bing Webmaster, Pinterest and Bluesky connections. Connected-account permissions and publication approvals belong to the owner. Selected analytics, source material and conversation content may be processed by the owner's AI service provider, OpenAI, to perform requested analysis and drafting.
Google API information is used for the features the owner authorizes, such as reading search performance, checking indexing, reviewing selected conversations and sending approved messages. Use of information received from Google APIs is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Articles and social posts can contain links to other websites. Visiting those destinations is subject to their own privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations or protect the security of the site and its users.
Retention and security
Raw first-party analytics events are configured to expire after approximately 180 days. Sign-in sessions have a rolling expiration of approximately 30 days, renewed during use. Browser storage can remain until you clear it, your browser removes it, or a feature changes it.
We retain account, subscription, interaction and correspondence records as needed to provide their associated features, handle requests and honor relevant preferences. You can contact us to request review or deletion of information associated with you.
We use access controls and appropriate safeguards for stored information. Relay's connected-account credentials are encrypted on the owner's Windows device. Safeguards reduce risk, but no method of storage or transmission provides an absolute guarantee.
Your choices and requests
You can unsubscribe from email updates using the link in an email, manage browser storage using your browser settings, and contact us about access, correction or deletion of your information. The blog owner can also revoke connected-service authorizations through the relevant provider and disconnect the account in Relay.
To make a request, contact blaineritz@gmail.com. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify the request and locate the relevant records. Additional privacy rights may apply depending on where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and its services change. The date above identifies the latest version.
